Welcome and Call to Worship

Congregational Hymn

“Great Is Thy Faithfulness” #276

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever wilt be.

Chorus
Great is thy faithfulness!
Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see:
all I have needed thy hand hath provided–
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.

Chorus

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Chorus

“Raise A Hallelujah”

I raise a hallelujah in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah Heaven comes to fight for me

Chorus
I’m gonna sing in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes hope will arise
Death is defeated the King is alive

I raise a hallelujah with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah fear you lost your hold on me

Chorus

Sing a little louder in the presence of my enemies
Sing a little louder louder than the unbelief
Sing a little louder my weapon is a melody
Sing a little louder Heaven comes to fight for me 2X

Sing a little louder

Chorus

Prayer of Confession

Pastor Gary Morello

Gracious Lord, You have given us good news — that Christ died for our sins, was raised to new life, and that Your grace has the final word. And yet, we confess how quickly we drift from that good news. We carry burdens You have already lifted. We rehearse our failures instead of Your mercy. We forget that we stand not on our own strength, but on Your grace alone. Forgive us, Lord. Remind us again of what we have received — a grace we did not earn, a hope we cannot lose, a Savior who meets us even now. Steady us in this truth and shape our lives by it each day. In the name of the risen Christ (time of silent confession).

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

*Congregational Song

“Good Good Father”

I’ve heard a thousand stories
Of what they think You’re like
I’ve heard the tender whisper
Of love in the dead of night
You tell me that You’re pleased
And that I’m never alone

Chorus
You’re a Good Good Father
It’s who You are
It’s who You are
It’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am
It’s who I am
It’s who I am

I’ve seen many searching for answers
Far and wide
But I know we’re all searching for answers
Only You provide
‘Cause You know just what we need
Before we say a word

Chorus

You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways
You are perfect in all of Your ways to us (Repeat)

Love so undeniable I can hardly speak
Peace so unexplainable I can hardly think
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
As You call me deeper still
Into love love love

Chorus

Sermon On The Mount
Lesson 27: Matthew 6:25-34

1. Jesus is trying to teach us the fine art of daily living?
Why is this so difficult for us?

2. Based upon your own experiences, what have been the ill effects of worry?

3. What prescription does Jesus give us for the malady of anxious thoughts?

4. When Jesus instructs us to seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, what do you think that looks like?

5. When we live our lives in the holy present, as an un-anxious presence in our world, how does this honor God and bless our neighbors?

Sermon On The Mount
Lesson 26: Matthew 6:16-18

1. For Jesus and the early Christian church, the three “acts of righteousness” are intertwined (prayer, almsgiving and fasting). What connections do you see between these three?
2. What is our cultural posture toward fasting? How does that differ from Jesus’ posture toward the practice?
3. In scripture, there are three main reasons to fast: 1-In response to a holy moment, 2-For Yom Kippur (as an act of repentance and sorrow over sin or hard things). 3-To do justice and care for the poor (while yearning for God’s kingdom). How might we engage these reasons in our own fasting?
4. Do you/have you ever fasted as a Christian discipline? Share any experiences or tips with your group.
5. Jesus warns us to mind our motives when we pray, give and fast. What are some warning signs that we might be doing good things for wrong reasons?

The Apostle’s Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell;
the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven,
and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church;
the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Sacrament of The Lord’s Supper

The Sacrament is open to all who have faith in Jesus Christ. We come forward to receive the elements by Intinction: A piece of bread is dipped into the cup. A gluten free station is available.
